I’m thrilled that my third book, Shiver, has been acquired by Greystone Books. Shiver addresses how the latest canine science can be used to help dogs feel more safe and secure, written for owners of all types of fearful dogs–including dogs who fear fireworks, rescue dogs who are too afraid to even go for a walk, and pups who tremble when they meet someone new.

I’m delighted to be working with everyone at Greystone Books again. They are an amazing team and it’s a pleasure to work with them, including the same brilliant editor, Lucy Kenward.

And I’m incredibly grateful to my amazing agent, Fiona Kenshole at Transatlantic Agency, for representing me. Fiona is always a kind and supportive ear for my ideas and is exactly the type of experienced person you want on your side. Thank you, Fiona!

You can read the official announcement in Quill and Quire, but only if you’re a subscriber because it’s behind a paywall.

I want to thank you, too, because your support of my first two books, Wag and Purr, has been so important. Publishing is a business and so obviously sales matter. I am so grateful to you for buying, reviewing, and/or recommending Wag and Purr, and hope that you will be just as excited about Shiver too.

The title may change, but publication is provisionally scheduled for the Fall of 2024.

It feels like a fitting time to bring you this news because tomorrow is the third anniversary of the publication of Wag. We’ve all been through so much since then but I’m so proud of that book and how many dogs have been helped by it. I hope that many fearful dogs—and their guardians—will be helped by Shiver too.
